High performance tug-of-war is the only team strength sport in the Olympic family. It has been contested five times at the Olympic Games. Today it is part of the programme of the World Games.

Dariusz Bajkowski has been seriously involved in tug-of-war since 2010. In 2011, he participated for the first time in an international training run by the International Tug of War Federation (TWIF) in China. In 2015, he was elected First Vice President of TWIF. In 2016, the Polish team that he coached took the first historic participation in the TWIF World Championship, where they finished 14th in the 700 kg men’s class. Twenty-three countries took part in the championships. Since 2016 he has been chairman of the board of the Polish Tug of War Association.
In 2017, he participated in the organization of Tug of War at The World Games in Wroclaw.
